501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation
We are a California 501(c)(3) public charity on a mission to weave music into the fabric of everyday life, celebrating South Asian musical heritage while cultivating cutting-edge cross-cultural collaboration.
The specific purpose of SF Indian Music Project, Inc. is to increase visibility of and educate people on South Asian culture and music by providing free music lessons, cultural performances, and collaborative events with local artists and businesses.
We are musicians building for musicians โ tearing down the wall between audience and performer, making music something you live, not just watch. We respect tradition without hiding behind it. Concerts and Mehfils had their time; we are building what comes next โ immersive, multi-sensory experiences built around music where raw sounds meet modern production, and South Asian soul meets global ambition.
Through free open jam sessions, educational music workshops, recorded studio initiatives, and curated showcases, we nurture artistic excellence, cross-genre innovation, and community connection across San Francisco and the wider Bay Area.
How we serve artists, students, and audiences throughout the San Francisco Bay Area
Lowering barriers to music participation by hosting free, open-to-all community jams across public parks, cultural centers, and local venues.
Providing free lessons, instrumental guidance, rhythm exploration, and workshops that transmit both classical foundations and modern audio production techniques.
Partnering with Bay Area artists, small businesses, indie spaces, and civic organizations to celebrate diversity and cross-pollinate musical traditions.
Operated strictly as a public charity under IRC Section 501(c)(3), governed by community artists dedicated exclusively to charitable and educational purposes.
